National Disability Insurance Services

Takes Care Specialist Centre is registered for Therapeutic Support (Provision of psychological services) with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).

As a result, our experienced psychologists and counsellors can deliver a diverse range of evidence-based therapies to NDIS participants, who are older than 7 years old, including those that are managed by the Agency.

Approach of Takes Care Specialist Centre:

With many years of experience in in working with a variety of mental health conditions and their consequences on individuals and their loved ones, Takes Care Specialist Centre and counsellors take the approach, summarised below, in assisting NDIS participants to reach their potentials.

  1. As a part of our referral enquiry, Takes Care Specialist Centre referral seeks information about the goals of each participant, prior to creating the Service Agreement.
  2. Beginning from the initial appointment, your psychologist or counsellor provides his/her best endeavour to NDIS participants to understand the goals of each participant and their barriers to lead a fulfilling life.
  3. Using this understanding, together with forming alliances with the loved ones of each participant, the psychologist or the counsellor would then plan the required sessions and activities, so that each participant can travel towards their goals.
  4. In each case, together with the NDIS participant and their loved ones, the psychologist or the counsellor would revise the plan to ensure that it stays current and suited to the need of the participant.

Our services are provided through the following options:

  •  Face-to-face at Takes Care Specialist Centre premises
  •  In-home visits (For some areas of Brisbane)
  •  Telehealth e.g. Skype and FaceTime (Not suitable for children 7-12 years old)

However, during the COVID-19 Pandemic, most of our services are delivered through telehealth or at a person’s home, if the session can be delivered in an open area, such as the backyard. Takes Care Specialist Centre has developed an efficient and streamlined process for engaging its services, demonstrated in the flowchart, shown below.
